Importing a menu

Importing menus allows you to quickly upload your pre-existing menu and item selection, saving you time when setting up a new menu. This guide will walk you through how to import a menu so you can launch or update offerings with ease.



Log into the Menu Manager

  1. Go to the Menu Manager

  2. Enter your credentials and login.





Access the menus tab

  1. From the left sidebar, select "Menus" to view your existing menus.

  2. Prepare the menu you'd like to import according to the required format.





Start the import process

  1. Click the "Import menus" button in the top-right corner. 






Upload your menu file

  1. Click  select your file. This will open up your downloads folder on your device. 

  2. Select the CSV file that you want to upload  into the system. 

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions after clicking the "Import menus" button to ensure that your CSV file is formatted correctly.

  4. If you're using Webtrition, the import will automatically pull key details such as: Menu names, Station names, Recipe names, Short names, Sell prices, Allergens, Dietary tags, Calories.

  5. Click “Submit” to import your menu file. 





Add translations for bilingual menus (optional)

  1. To add a french translation to the menu, section or item name, add the following new columns to your file: "Menu Name FR", "Station FR", "Short Name FR" or "Description FR"

  2. Make sure "support multiple languages" is enabled in the settings before importing.





Include JDE accounting categories (optional)

  1. To add an accounting category, add a new column to your menu file and name it "JDE Category".
